About Chris
Chris Perera is the Founder and President of Firm Forward Energy, a clean energy strategy and business development firm focused on accelerating the deployment of advanced nuclear and other forms of reliable, safe, carbon-free power.
He brings decades of experience in television production, development, sales, marketing and communications to the energy sector. Throughout his career, he has built businesses, developed and sold television programs, led large production teams, and translated highly complex subjects into compelling stories that engage audiences.
In addition to launching Firm Forward Energy, Chris is an Executive Producer and Showrunner whose work has appeared on ABC, Discovery, Nat Geo, TLC, HGTV, A&E, History, BBC and other major networks. His credits include NY Med (ABC), Say Yes to the Dress (TLC), House Hunters International (HGTV), Tiny House Nation (FYI )and American Weed (Nat Geo), among numerous other series and specials. Chris’s companies, Perera Pictures and 5 Speed Entertainment, have produced programs around the globe, including across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
His productions have also taken him inside some of the most demanding and difficult-to-access environments in television, including medical docuseries filmed at NY Presbyterian Hospital, Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Oklahoma University Medical Center, where he worked alongside medical staff and patients to tell complex and deeply personal stories with accuracy and integrity.
Chris also produced, filmed and wrote the entire series The Bravest, which followed members of the New York City Fire Department during the summer of 2001. On September 11, he filmed the collapse of the World Trade Center and wrote and produced a tribute show honoring firefighters profiled in the series who were lost that day, as well as the many others who perished.
He now brings his experience in storytelling, sales, relationship-building and communicating complex subjects to Firm Forward Energy, helping advanced nuclear companies make lasting connections with customers, investors, partners and the broader public.
In May 2024 Chris earned his Executive MBA from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business.
